Welcome to Respite, an avian roleplay taking place in present times. All species of fowl are welcome in the lands of Respite, from gulls and herons to owls and falcons. This is a free-lance roleplay, meaning that there is no dark and light, nor is there any major plot as of yet. You are encouraged to carve your own path through Respite, making your own plots as you go.

Respite welcomes all roleplayers, beginner to advanced, as long as they honor our universal rules both in and out of character. Although this is a new rpg, I hope that Respite will flourish in due time.

The Forest
[ ]Hollow Tree
UNCLAIMED.

An ancient oak tree, the inside of which is hollow. Forest-dwelling birds gather to make their nests in the branches or to take refuge in the empty trunk.
00
[ ]The Meadow
UNCLAIMED.

A large, secluded meadow surrounded by trees on all four sides. Ash trees dot the landscape, providing shelter to its inhabitants.
00
The Lake
[ ]The Shallows
UNCLAIMED.

A marshy lakeside haven for water-dwellers where the lake's deep bottom rears upwards, providing a perfect place to nest and teach youngsters to swim. This place hasn't been polluted by Man...yet.
00
[ ]The Shore
UNCLAIMED.

The edge of the mighty lake; a sandy beach that often attracts humans during the warm months. Waves lap relentlessly at the shore.
00
The Neighborhood
[ ]The Garden
UNCLAIMED.

A small garden, boxed in by a picket fence. It is the backyard of a house owned by a kindly old female human. Hummingbirds are attracted to the sweet-smelling flowers here, and other fowl find their way to the multiple birdbaths.
00
[ ]The Restaurant
UNCLAIMED.

A noisy place where food arrives on platters to feed the humans who come here. Every once in awhile a human might toss a scrap at a waiting bird, though they are more likely to get chased away by impatient waiters.
00
The Country
[ ]The Barn
UNCLAIMED.

A large barn bustling with activity during the day. It is home to dairy cows and their curious calves. The rafters serve as an excellent place for nesting, and hay is plentiful for nest-building. Watch out for the barncat, though!
00
[ ]The Field
UNCLAIMED.

A large and open field of sun-ripened wheat. This is the home to various species of field mice and other prey. A few maple trees offer a resting place to the predators that gather here.
00
The Island
[ ]The Tropics
UNCLAIMED.

A large and humid forest, filled with insects and perfumed flowers. This is home to many species of tropical fowl.
00
[ ]The Docks
UNCLAIMED.

A busy port where many ships come in and out. The activity is a bit unsettling for some birds, but others take the chance in order to steal a fish or two from the crates that arrive here.
00
The City
[ ]The Streets
UNCLAIMED.

The streets of the city, full of impatient humans and other oddities. Not the most clean place, of course, but often home to pigeons and other roaming birds.
00
[ ]The Pier
CLAIMED BY: Gulliver

A pier constructed of intertwining wood. It is rather old and decrepit, though still in use. The food is not plentiful, but a good hunter can catch a fish now and then.

Summer is at its midpoint and temperatures are soaring. Those lucky enough to enhabit a tree-covered area are taking shelter beneath the foliage's leafy canopy until the cooler evening, while those in the higher regions might consider the same. Fish, insects and prey are all running well.
